The Jame Mosque of Riab is the village’s oldest mosque and one of its most important cultural and religious centers.
Located in the heart of the historic village fabric, the mosque dates to the Qajar period and features architecture that is both simple and dignified. Its key elements include a columned prayer hall with a flat wooden roof, a stucco-decorated mihrab featuring geometric motifs, and an elevated veranda opening onto the central courtyard.
A short brick minaret stands beside the mosque and was historically used both for the call to prayer and for observation purposes.
The mosque remains active today, hosting daily and Friday prayers. During Muharram and Ramadan, mourning ceremonies and communal iftar gatherings are also held here, reflecting the deep connection between faith and social solidarity in Riab.
In addition to its religious function, the mosque is an important destination for cultural visitors.
