The Historic Bathhouse of Riab is one of the few surviving traditional bathhouses from the late Safavid period in the Gonabad region.
This valuable monument was registered on Iran’s National Heritage List on 13 August 2005 under Registration No. 13180.
Its architecture includes an entrance portal with a pointed arch, a vestibule-like transition corridor (Miandar), a warm bathing chamber with a central stone pool, and both hot and cold-water reservoirs. The roof is covered with domes featuring multiple skylights, designed with thick glass inserts to provide soft natural light while preserving interior warmth.
Today, the bathhouse has been converted into a traditional teahouse.
Located within the historic fabric of the village near the water reservoir and Jame Mosque, the bathhouse offers visitors insight into the hygiene practices and social customs of earlier generations.
